Everybody blogs, right? So I'm led to understand . . .
I'm Snowflake from Canada. I was born in Saskatchewan, to be precise. Saskatchewan is pronounced "Sus-CATCH-one" - but don't worry, even Canadians from Ontario can't/won't pronounce it correctly. But if you can pronounce it slickly and quickly you'll find us appreciative of the effort.
My beautiful 24 year old daughter is severely autistic. She cannot speak, count, read or communicate in any sensible manner. But she is sweet, gentle, loving and intelligent. You can't have everything, I was told. But I was hoping for an easier task than this one. The past 23 years (she was not quite two years old when she started showing symptoms) have been difficult much of the time, horrific some of the time, hilarious occasionally, and altogether interesting beyond what anyone deserves!
The rest of the family also has a kick to their gallop but nobody to the extent of our sweet Lanie. My son, Bubba (the only word Lanie has for him, we think she is saying "brother"), is a college-educated visual artist - extremely talented (famous on the internet, as they say) and mildly-addicted to internet gaming. My husband JP is an author of 'creative non-fiction' books and is working for a news organization away from home. We get together whenever we can.
My beloved hounds - Ozzie and Harriet, are randomly-bred. More about them later. . .
